We have private and shared rooms. And we have rooms for couples. Some people like to socialize and then go back to their room and have their me time while others want companionship and socialization with a roommate.
All our rooms come fully furnished including TV and cable so families don’t have to scramble to furnish the room when they bring their loved one here or move things out when a loved one passes on. Families are welcome to bring their own furniture or MIX and match their loved ones’ favorite pieces with ours. It is all about flexibility and convenience. Our ADA-compliant bathrooms are large to accommodate a resident plus a couple of caregivers if needed. A large open kitchen makes residents part of the home and family while they dine in the dining room. Hanging out in the living room with fellow residents playing games or shooting a breeze makes everyone connect.
Though set up like a home, acorn manor has some of the top-level safety features that you find in big facilities and other safety features that are unique to acorn manor. We have 24 hours monitored fire and safety alarms, commercial sprinkler system. Uv air sanitizer in the living room and individual rooms, essential oil diffuser, salt lamps to sanitize and disinfect the air. Routine disinfecting and sanitizing multiple times a day. All our homes have a backup generators that we rarely need as our homes are on hospital lines. Fire dept is 0.7 miles from our homemaking them appear to win less than 5 minutes at times of us making a call. Our local hospitals are with in less than 10 minutes drive..
Technology
It is a myth that the elderly do not understand technology. Residents at Acorn Manor rock it. From Tablets to Kindle to Alexa to Virtual Reality our residents utilize technology to stay connected with their families and for entertainment.
Outdoors
Our gardens are welcome retreats for residents and their families. Raised gardens that are wheelchair accessible make sure that residents enjoy gardening with ease. Our gardening program is set up with the help of the University of Arkansas and Texas AnM University Agri Extension. Residents grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Feed the birds and enjoy nature.
Your Pets Life at Acorn Manor
At Acorn Manor our residents experience a shorter period of adaptation because instead of feeling lonely in their new home, they will be busy helping their pets to adapt. That shift of focus makes them feel at ease much faster than at other assisted living facilities. There is no better ice-breaker than talking about how smart your doggie is!
Our caregivers not only take care of the residents but they take care of their pets also. Mobile vets and groomers come to Acorn Manor when needed. Pets stay with their parent in their rooms. All our homes have dog doors so dogs can go in and out and enjoy an expansive backyard, chase squirrels or lay in the sun. Once the loved one passes and if the family can’t take the pet home, the pet can stay at Acorn Manor or will go to Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary to live the rest of their days being loved and pampered.
Healthy Way of Eating
All meals are prepared fresh daily with only organic, fresh ingredients. Every resident is provided three full meals daily, as well as access to snacks and beverages throughout the day.
Our residents work together in the garden to grow the vegetables we use in many of our meals.
